Can syntax highlighter code be updated?

  • Unknown's avatar

I post powershell code. For some reason the syntax highlighter messes up when it encounters double quotes. If I write “” (two double quotes), the second double quote is treated as text. All subsequent lines are then treated as quoted text, not code. Can I do something to fix that?

    Hey Hugo,

I think this will do the trick for you:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/

Give it a read, and let me know if you have any questions or difficulties.

If you’re still having trouble after using the shortcode, please send me a link to a relevant post so I can view how a) the code appears in your editor, and b) how it appears when published.

Thanks so much! All the best.

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to me. I have used the code tags from that support article. My post is here. If you look at the powershell script I have posted you will notice that the syntax highlighting breaks at line 95.

Any help you can give will be appreciated greatly!

    Hey Hugo,

Have you yet attempted to place a space between your double quotes? If not, please do give that a try and republish the post.

Let me know if that works for you. Thank you!

I have tried that, and it mostly works. But that would change what the script does. So I would rather not. Any other possibilities?

    Hey Hugo!

Ah…I had my fingers crossed, but worried that might be the case. I’ll put in a ticket for our developers. I can’t promise this will be something that will be addressed quickly, but I do want them to take a look at the issue for you.

One of us will be in touch as soon as there is an answer.

Thanks for the patience on this. We’ll get it settled as soon as possible.
