Can tagline be added to the header image in PressRow?

  I’ve just switched to the PressRow theme for Flaming Catheads (http://flamingcatheads.wordpress.com/). I like the theme but would like my tagline to show. Ideally I’d like to get it into the dark empty space in the left and middle of the header image. Is there any way to do this, or should I keep looking for themes similar to PressRow that will just put the tagline in? (I should mention that I am a bit code-challenged and know nothing of CSS at the moment.)

  Yes. Simply make a new header image by using the one you have on your own computer. Add the text for the tagline to that image and then upload the new header image with the tagline on it into your blog. That’s all there is to it. :)

  There is no way the theme you have will display a tagline under the title line let alone in the header image. See this post ro locate themes that do display taglines when we enter them on this page > Settings > General

  Thanks, that clarifies it, I think. As I understand it then, basically I have two options:

  –Take the header image I’ve stored and insert the tagline text (a whole other challenge!), then upload that edited image into the blog.

  —–or—–

  –Find another theme that supports taglines and do it that way.

  Right?

  Right on both counts. It’s up to you to choose. :)

  Placing text on an image is easy. You can do this in Paint if you have a windows OS.

  Success! I decided to try option 1, using GIMP to insert and format the text. So far so good.

  OOPS! I want to state on more thing. Do not remove the tagline from here > Settings > General . This is because search spiders cannot read text on images and cannot even “see” images but they can detect the text in the tagline field.

  Ah, that’s a good point. I’ve left the tagline in anyway, in case I ever change to a theme that displays it. But I hadn’t thought about the spiders.
