Can the enquirer's email address be put in the from-address field of the email g

We are getting more traffic from our Contact Us form than we can respond to in a timely fashion.

We want to send out an automatic message to warn enquirers that it may take up to a week for us to respond to them.

We use Gmail, and so we added an autoresponse in there.

This works fine if people email our Gmail address directly. Unfortunately, if they contact us via our form, the autoresponse goes to the from-address which is (email visible only to moderators and staff), rather than to the reply-to address of the enquirer.

Is there anything I or WP can do to have the enquirer’s email address put in the from-address field of the generated email?

In the meantime, I have put the warning message on the Contact Us webpage.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi there,

Currently, there’s no way to set the enquirer’s email address as the reply-to address on the email notification you receive. However, that’s a great suggestion and I’ve passed it along to our developers so they can keep it in mind for future updates to the contact form feature.

I think your workaround (including a warning message on the page with the contact form) is a good way of handling that for now.
