Can the footer be removed from the “motion” theme?

    Hey all you fine folks out there…can the footer be removed from the “motion” theme?

    I love the theme, and I want to change to it but I’m not a fan of the footer, I prefer to have my blogroll and all that other fun trash in a right-hand column. I see that I can throw widgets int the right-hand column to put links there, but that does not remove them from the footer and having my blogroll up there twice would just be idiotic.

    If the footer can’t be removed altogether, is it possible to at least remove the links list from the footer? I wouldn’t mind the other things being at the bottom so much.

    I’ve done several word searches in the forums, and tried playing around with the theme and widgets itself on one of my secondary blogs. No avail.

    Any help is appreciated!

    I put the theme up on my test blog and went through the process of placing empty text widgets with no title and no contents in the 3 footer bars. I clicked “Save” and “close”. Normally this will eliminate a sidebar display in this case the three were still there. I don’t know if they can be removed via CSS editing but the CSS editing upgrade has a preview function. I suggest that you try before you buy, so to speak. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

    Sure, you’ll find that if you put empty Text Widgets in the footer it’ll shrink enormously.

    @Hanni
    I have tried doing this three different times now. Yes I did “save” & “close” each text widget. Yes I did refresh the widgets page. When I viewed the front page no change had taken place. When I returned to the widgets page none of the 3 text widgets were in the footer boxes I placed them in. The footer boxes were empty. – 3 times = 0 success.

    Thanks for the help so far. Does anyone else know? Maybe someone who’s played more with this theme?

    Well, I was just playing around with the theme…and I wasn’t able to remove the footer, but I did place a links widget in the sidebar, and then dragged other things into the footer.

    Unfortunately, every time I navigate away from the page where you change widgets around, all of the listed widgets in each slot (sidebar, header, footers) disappear so that if I want to change anything, I have to basically start from scratch and drag them all back, but I don’t plan to rearrange anytime soon, so I can deal with it I guess.
