Can the original Home page tab be restored?
-
For whatever the reason, I purposely deleted the “Home” page that WP gives when upon account setup. It appears that the WP themes treat that page and its associated menu tab differently than other pages and I want it back.
If you browse to http://geoffreymichaelwade.wordpress.com using a regular PC the “Home” tab does not display. However when I browse to the site using my Droid smartphone, the mobile theme displays the “Home” tab.
I tried recreating a Home page and a custom menu. In that case the PC browser displays a Home tab and the Android browser displays two Home tabs. I did notice that the original home page pointed to the root directory http://geoffreymichaelwade.wordpress.com while the new home page pointed to http://geoffreymichaelwade.wordpress.com/home.
Is there anything I can do on my end? I did request Support to reset the site but have no idea if and when they will do it since this is a free product.
Thanks for any help.

The mobile theme and the main theme are separate themes.
Go to the custom menu page, create a custom menu and in the “pages” module, click the “view all” link and then at the top of the list of pages, you will find the normal home page tab. Add that and any other pages you need to the custom menu, save it, select that custom menu from the theme location pulldown and save and everything should be fine.
On the Droid, you may have to clear the cache on the browser.

Thanks, your solution worked!
As I’m sure you realized I was trying to create a static page as the home page without RTFM. Essentially an easy thing to do, it it not a completely intuitive process without a little guidance.

and RTFM!
