Can we have the ability to mark comments as ‘not spam’ when in Default view?

Can we please have the ability to mark genuine comments that get marked as spam as ‘not spam’ when viewing comments in default view? It’s already possible to do this in the Classic view, so why not when in the Default view?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You can actually do this directly from the Default View. Each comment that has been marked as spam will have an “Approve” button underneath it. Simply click on the “Approve” button for the comment you want to approve, and it will be moved out of the spam queue and published on your site. Here’s a screenshot to make things easier:

Let me know if you have any other questions, and I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you. Are there any plans to add a ‘reply; button? I find it easier to click reply than approve because the comment is also approved once I send my reply. When hitting approve, I then have to find the comment again and reply to it.

  • Hello there,

It’s not possible to reply to Spam directly, it would need to approved or unmarked as spam in order to do that.

The reason being is that it’s one step away from being trash.

    I hope this helps.

In which case, why not have a ‘not spam’ button (as the Classic view has)? That way, when clicking ‘not spam’, the comment goes straight to the waiting for approval queue, where I can hit the ‘reply’ button.

  • Hi there,

There is not a “not-spam” option in the current view, since that option tended to cause confusion. However you can manage these comments in the classic view if you wish. To do that visit the current view here: https://wordpress.com/comments/spam/hughsviewsandnews.com

Then look for this option in the top right:

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
