can we make separate "folders" for users

We will have several writers on our site and want to know if there is a way for them to each have their own folders for their stories
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not directly.
As long as each Author logs in under their own user account, their name will appear in the Author column in the Posts Dashboard.
As far as media, if they have upload privileges, ask them to preface their uploads with their username.
