Can we make the site password entry only?

How can I make it possible that viewers can only enter the site with a password?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. This is not possible on WordPress.com. You can password-protect individual posts and pages, but not the entire site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/
If you set your entire site to private, then no one would be able to see it unless you have issued them a personal invitation. However, they will only be able to accept the invitation if they have a WordPress.com username account. (If they don’t, they’ll need to register an account, but they can do so without creating a blog.)

http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/If these options don’t work for you the only way to have a password-protected site is to buy your own domain and hosting and create a website using the WordPress.org software. With a self-hosted site you’ll be able to install the plugins you’ll need to have viewers log in to view the site.
