Can we place ads on our blog?

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:
http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can apply for at http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/
If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

We have a wordpress.com blog that we’ve had for over a year. yesterday we paid $13 to map the domain to wordpress as the first step to joining your wordads program. Now we can no longer get into our blog. However we think we already bought this site from Godaddy and we can no longer access our blog now that we are a .com and the clock is ticking on our time to get out of our commmitment to the domain issue. HELP!!!!! 847-409-0939 or 847-471-9678 please call us to explain or in easy, detailed information tell us how to get out of what we signed up for or make it work so we can use our blog again. We would really prefer to talk to someone if possible.

revised question: now that we have purchased a dotcom site you need to tell us very specifically what to point to so that the wordpress.com is now to directed to .com. is it ns1.wordpress.com, ns2wordpress.com or is it an ip address? there should be a way to do this from our dashboard??? help us please. 847-471-9678 or 847=409-0939 or email is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

WordPress.com does not have phone support. However, we help thousands of users a day through the support forums and via email. So I am sure that I can help you as well!
You have things set up correctly on our end of things. However, it looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=http://goingtocollegeists.comPlease go to your domain registrar’s site (GoDaddy in your case) and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

As a sidenote, while I am all for keeping admin stuff on WordPress.com as often as possible. This particular task can’t be done from your dashboard because you registered the domain via GoDaddy. You have to use their “dashboard” to change your nameservers.
Does that make sense?
