Can we use WordPress on an existing web site without setting up a new one?
-
We had a few questions about WordPress. We have an existing web site and we would like to be able to integrate WordPress to use on our existing site to add blogging. Can we do this, and how?
Can we run it on our servers with Windows 2003?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot embed a wordpress.com blog into a website — period. All you can do is set the website up do it can draw from the RSS feed of the wordpress.COM blog.
We do not provide support for installing the capacity on your website to draw the RSS feed from your blog.
Every wordpress blog has an RSS feed for comments and for posts (entries). This is the URL for the feed for your blog’s posts (entries):
http://potentialuser.wordpress.com/feed/
This is the URL for the feed for your blog’s comments:
http://potentialuser.wordpress.com/comments/feed/On your webiste you will have to write something in PHP or javascript to do that. Here are a couple options:

Just in case you aren’t clear on the differences between them there are two wordpress sites. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Additionally, you could set up a blog here and then map it to a subdomain of your website such as blog.yoursite.com .

If you are looking at installing WP on your existing server, then you need to look around over at http://wordpress.ORG/ and look at the requirements. In my experience, working with wordpress on Windows servers can be tricky and I don’t know if the .ORG software will even work on Windows 2003 server.

I was told by my designer that the dedicated server I rent from Godaddy (Windows 2003) won’t work. He said I need to get/rent a Linux server. Is that accurate?

You need to look at the requirements for the wordpress.ORG software, and those requirements are not found here, they are found over at wordpress.ORG. They are the keepers and supporters of the wordpress.ORG software.

Here is a direct link to the requirements for a .ORG installation.
