Can WordPress Blog be Integrated with .Net Website?

    Hi,

I am a newbie here and planning to purchase a WordPress blog and later integrate it into my .Net website. I am considering if it is even possible? as i have heard that WordPress only supports PHP websites.

Secondly, according to the Premium plan, it says you can store dozens of videos. I would like to confirm if there is a restriction on the number of videos you can upload? Or if you can upload as many until you have consumed 13GB space. Most importantly, how much space does a video consume if it is embedded and not uploaded? I am just a little confused b/w Premium and Business plan? and considering if 13 GB space is enough or not.

Lastly, what is the process of integrating a WordPress blog into an existing website hosted elsewhee. My website is http://calanceus.com and i want the blog to be located at blog.calanceus.com. Is this the process? – Buy a wp blog, create a subdomain on calanceus.com, and map the subdomain by following these steps – http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

Could please someone help with these confusions so i can proceed with the purchase? Your help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

Blogs & hosting is free here – it is the upgrades that cost

blog.calanceus.com – domain mapping as a sub-domain – can be done: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/ – if as a standalone upgrade $13.-/yr – however included in all the bundles – you make a regular blog here then map it

Embedded videos don’t really take up space as such – but the video needs to be on the web somewhere in a form supported here (YouTube, Vimeo & others) – if you want the videos on your site then you need Video Press (in bundles) – as far as I know just based on the storage limits – I would expect the number of videos allowed by count would be a large number – don’t worry about the count

Video size – depends on a lot of variables, screen size, sampling rate , length, etc. Above my paygrade to estimate

yes WordPress is written in PHP – but embedding as a sub-domain means that you don’t even need PHP on your web site since the blog would be hosted here.

look at the bundles and only get one that meets what you need – from what you say – the $99.-/yr should be fine

Thank you for your response. It was a great help. There’s one more thing i would like ask. I need to customize the look of the blog to suit my website, is it possible with wordpress.com as i read that wordpress.com comes with certain limitations like you can’t upload your own themes? And does the premium plan come with SEO feature as well?

No codes changes allowed – but if you get the CSS upgrade you can do some style changes

SEO – all the blogs here have the same features – buying a package does not change the SEO
