can wordpress delete a site that lost its hosting?

    i want to delete a blog that i no longer use the name of the blog is flikrofessence.com. The problem is i had a hosting account with godaddy.com i lost my hosting account and lost my blog. The link and files to the blog stayed with wordpress though. Now i have new website hosted through godaddy and i gave it the same name flikrofessence.com. The problem is as im trying to edit my page the edit sometimes wants to go through the broken link which causes extreme delays because its like the edit is going no where and nothing happens. I have no access no access to deleting this broken link of my website that is no longer hosted which has the same name as my new website that does have hosting and i was wondering if wordpress could delete the old broken link site for me. the old site has 10 posts the new has 0 posts.

    Please confirm the URL you want deleted. Is this it? http://flikrofessence.com/

    well now that i know i cant bring the site back once its deleted i see the pickle I’m in i really don’t know what to do now.. Maybe if I could just reset the site… I don’t even know if what i’m saying makes since… I’ve restarted my website but when i use the wordpress to edit it sometimes the edit goes through and other times it doesn’t and i get an error message its almost as though i have two websites of the same name. When i go look at my list of blogs it says flikrofessnece.com has 10 posts..That’s impossible i haven’t posted anything for the site. I thought maybe if i deleted the site and started all over again then i could get rid of this issue but now that i know i cant bring the site back once i delete it i don’t know what to do i guess ill just either have to work through these delays or come up with a new domain name.

    Hi there, I see two somewhat related sites on your account:

    http://flikrofessence.wordpress.com/ – a site here on WordPress.com with 41 published posts.

    http://flikrofessence.com – a self-hosted site with only one published post.

    When you say you want to delete it, could you clarify what you mean? I can certainly detach this site from your WordPress.com account if you like. It was connected at one point which means it may have been running the Jetpack plugin – does that ring any bells? Since it no longer appears to be running Jetpack detaching it from your WordPress.com account should do no harm.

    Which of the two sites above gives you an error message, and what does the error say exactly?

    The site i’m having trouble with is flikrofessence.com

    flikrofessence.wordpress.com is working wonderfully as always.

    this is the error message i get when i”m trying to edit my page

    Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to flikrofessence.com

    I even get this message when i’m trying to log in sometimes
    and no its not my internet connection because i can edit my other wordpress site without any delays.

    its interesting you said on your end it says i have a flikrofessence.com site with one published post.. on my end when i look at my blogs list it says my flikrofessence.com account has 10 published posts. I guess you can’t see that on your end and i think that’s what needs to be detached if that is even possible.

    My theory is that when I lost my hosting some semblance of my flikrofessence.com site stayed with wordpress and and now that i’m trying to bring my site back i’m getting this error message. I know its not on go daddy’s end because flikrofessnece.com loads with out any delays its only when i try to edit through my wordpress app that I start getting the error messages. I don’t know if there’s anything anyone can do about this situation so i’m willing to try detaching the site completely to see if that will work. So yes go ahead and detach flikrofessnece.com and please let me know if there’s anything i need to do on my end

    So that site is and always has been hosted by GoDaddy, is that what you’re saying? If so, then we cannot help you with that at all.

    Hi there, the only connection from flikrofessence.com to WordPress.com that I see is a Jetpack connection. It looks like the Jetpack plugin is installed and was connected on June 25. Would you like me to disconnect that connection? That will remove the site from your WordPress.com account, and also remove any active Jetpack features you may be using.

    Disconnecting that will likely not resolve your issues, but if you’d like me fully separate your self-hosted site from your WordPress.com account, this would be one solution.
