Can WordPress handle A lot of traffic?
-
Hi, I am currently looking to save some money on web site creation and online marketing. I am the marketing director of a Music Festival Events company and we are looking for a way to minimize our budget regarding website creation. This is why we decided to opt in with WordPress.com or Wix.com in order to personally create our website. I would like to know the truth. We are going to generate A LOT of traffic to our website this winter. We are going to sell a lot, up sell a lot, have a lot of accounts created etc. We want to make sure that WordPress.com is not going to have any sort of bug, or issues when it comes to ticket selling. Because we are going to sell approximately 20,000 tickets or maybe way more. With an average 100,000 Website visitors a month. With all the up sells, email marketing, and the traffic on our website, we want to make sure wordpress.com can provide a 100% quality service and a very fast website in order to give our customers a nice experience. With that said. If you are being honest, are wordpress or Wix able to handle our next music festival website? Or you recomand us to go the old way and pay thousands of dollars for a fast running website?
Thank you for your time,
We are looking forward to hearing from you very soon. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com does not have bandwidth limitations, no matter if you are on the free, Personal, Premium or Business WordPress.com plan. It can handle traffic of any size.

Hi there,
100 000 visitors a month won’t pose any problems for our system – we host sites that have that number of visitors a day :)
If you want to sell tickets directly via your site, our Business Plan also allows you to install eCommerce plugins like WooCommerce, which can add that functionality to your site, and it gives you access to live chat support, 24 hours during weekdays, and US business hours over weekends.
