Can WordPress install the UpdraftPlus.com plugin?

I am trying to update my WordPress blog and cannot do it. Apparently, my PHP is also outdated.

Updraftplus.com is only available for WordPress.org users. It will not work with a WordPress.com site. You can see it advertised here on WordPress.org only. https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/
However, if you do have an additional WordPress.org account, just use the above link to download the latest version. Good luck! -

Thank you for getting back to me.
I cannot find my admin page. I need to find out which WP version I am using. I have looked through the menus under my name at the upper right and through the Dashboard at the upper left.
I have searched the forums. Can you give me a step-by-step guide?
WP reports that updating the site can cause the corruption of data, so following the process, beginning with knowing which version I have, is imperative.

Hi there,
The link that you posted, http://theoctogenarians.wordpress.com, is powered by WordPress.com. In other words, you are unable to use Updraftplus.com with that blog. If you want to access the PHP and html in your theme, you must be using a self-hosted WordPress.org account. The current blog that you use(on WordPress.com) does not allow you to change the PHP.
