Can WordPress Themes be used on third part hosts?

My understanding is that WordPress “Open Source” themes can be used on third party hosts. Is that true? If so, how do I identify if a theme is “Open Source?”

Also, if by using a WordPress Theme on a third party host, I assume that I will not be bound by any of WordPress’ conditions or restriction?

If you use another host, then you are just bound by that other hosts terms of service.

Don’t worry about Open Source or not. If the theme is free to download, then you can use it (if your new host provides theme upload capability, etc.).

You will be bound by WordPress.org software’s terms and conditions, but not WordPress.com’s terms and conditions.

    THANK YOU!!!

That was the answer I was hoping for.
