Can wordpress.com migrate my blog to wordpress.org?
-
Hi, I just recently determined that I would like to run a more independent site through wordpress.org since I already have my own domain. Is it possible to migrate my existing blog on wordpress.com to wordpress.org as a starting point, or do I need to start everything from scratch – including the domain mapping which I have already purchased for the existing blog?

This guide will step you through the process of moving your WordPress.com site to a self hosted WordPress:

We only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, so all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if its right for you:

And I’m happy to refund your recent Domain Mapping renewal since you won’t be using it. Just reply to confirm.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with! :)
