Can you add a countdown clock to th sidebar

I am trying to add a counter clock to the sidebar, given that we are documenting the progress before our big day next year.
Can anyone tell me how to embed code onto my blog page?Thanks

The only countdown tickers that will work on wordpress.COM blogs are those that are HTML code only. I have reviewed the ones we can use on wordpress.com blogs and you will find them in this post: How to add a countdown ticker to your wordpress.com blog

No that’s a time and date widget, but it’s flash anyway. The islamic clocks are an example of a site with flash widgets that provide a post-to-WP button. There are also other widget sites that give an embed code only, which can be transformed to a working shortcode.
