Can you add a custom widget, if so how?
-
I have a free WordPress.com blog. I would like to know if I this allows me to add a GoFundMe widget to my site. If so, how?
Here is the code in case it is needed to answer my questions.
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="258" height="338" title="Click Here to donate!" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="movie" value="//funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="flashvars" value="page=35xud4&template=1" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><embed allowScriptAccess="always" src="//funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf" quality="high" flashVars="page=35xud4&template=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="258" height="338"></embed></object>The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You turn it to this:
[gigya allowScriptAccess="always" src="http://funds.gofundme.com/Widgetflex.swf" quality="high" flashVars="page=35xud4&template=1" wmode="transparent" width="258" height="338" ] -
Thank you, I certainly do appreciate the assistance.
One thing though, it adds a scroll bar to the widget even though the widget fits within the define page parameters. I changed the height above and below the 338 parameter but it still shows a vertical scroll. Is there any way to remove this via code, if so how?
Also, is there a resource you can direct me to that shows how to code widgets and other features for WordPress.com?
Again, thank you for your assistance.

You’re welcome.
The scrollbar is a browser issue: in the browsers I use (Firefox and Safari, on a Mac) there’s no scrollbar.
General wp.com resource is the Support site:

The gigya trick is practically my own invention, and it isn’t officially supported. Recourse:

For normal coding in Text widgets see my relevant post:

as well as my posts on formatting text etc. -
It is a browser issue, yet another time IE disappoints.
Thank you for the links, they will come in most handy as I get back into coding webpages. I went ahead and followed your blog as well.
Again, thank you for the assistance, it is most helpful.

Aye, for some reason IE never seems to get along with WP. Glad your issue has been resolved though :)

Honestly, the only reason I keep IE around is it’s compatibility with the linked notes feature found in OneNote. Thank you, as am I thanks to JustPi’s assistance.

I have the same problem… Can you help me use my gofundme widget too? I am very confused by why it doesn’t work.
