Can you add a Paypal donation button if you have a free account?

You can use the basic PayPal donation button on a free site.
Please make sure you’re only using the basic button, as we explain in https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
If you use any of the customizations for the button, like drop-downs or radio buttons, etc, the button won’t work on WordPress.com.
