Can you add whole site password protection for WordPress.com site?
-
Because my site is hosted on WordPress.com, there is no method to password protect my entire site, or even a particular category of posts. The only option is to password protect individual posts and pages, and my visitors will have to enter a password before viewing each and every protected post or page.
I want my blog only available to my family and friends. Having to enter a password on each post or page is too difficult.
I would like to request you consider this as a feature in a future version. Thanks so much!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s easy to make your blog available only to family and friends. You set it to Private and Invite them via their email addresses. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

Thank you so much, raincoaster. I have changed my site to private per the instructions on the link above. Now do I also set each post to private, as well?

Status: Privately Published
Visibility: PrivateIf I want only family and friends to see my blog, is what you see above how visibility ought to be set for each post? Or is the status privately published and the visibility supposed to be set to public?

No. You set the BLOG to private and you set the POSTS to Published, not Private.
