Can you assign tag to images, then create gallery based on tags?

  I wondered if there is an option to assign tags to images?

  I can see the option to assign tags to posts, however not for individual images. I can only see the option to update title, caption etc for individual images.

  For example I would like apply the tag ‘ocean’ to all images in my media library which include a picture of the ocean, then create a gallery of all ‘ocean’ images in a new post.

  I’d appreciate any help you can provide,

  The answer is no. Tags can only be assigned to posts, not to images, not to pages.
