Can you backup with jetpack to a pre-upgrading account state?
-
I tried to switch theme and screwed my webpage upside down. Several widgets moved from footer to sidebar, and I find no easy way to move them back to footer.
New widgets and images appeared and I simply don’t find the strenght to fight my way back to my pristine-one-hour ago webpage.
All I am left with is to upgrade to a paid plan and hopefully be able to use a jetpack backup to have the site as it used to be.Any suggestions are welcome.
I have the idea of upgrading my webpage later on when I have figured out if I am really able to make my own bussiness webpage, as I am still in the learning curve, and this should be a professional looking webpage for my company (which has already 3 paid webpages).
Thanks a lot
Gerard

Hi Gerard,
I tried to switch theme and screwed my webpage upside down. Several widgets moved from footer to sidebar, and I find no easy way to move them back to footer.
This can happen when switching themes, yes, specifically if the theme you’re switching to doesn’t have the same widget areas defined as the theme you’re switching from. In that case the widgets get moved to the default widget area. Reversing the theme switch will not, unfortunately, also move the widgets back to where they were, as our system doesn’t see this as undoing the previous switch, but rather as making a new switch.
To move them back to another widget area, go to My Site ->Appearance ->Customize ->Widgets, open the widget area the widget is currently in, click on the widget, and click the Move to Widget Area button, as shown here:
You can also move multiple widgets at once, by using Shift-click to select them, and then grouping them, and un-grouping once you’ve moved them:
All I am left with is to upgrade to a paid plan and hopefully be able to use a jetpack backup to have the site as it used to be.
That won’t work. Real time backups will only work from the moment you upgrade to the Business Plan, so wouldn’t let you roll back to a point before you did that. But hopefully the steps I gave above will help you fix this a bit more easily :)

Thanks a lot! That eased the things a load.
I am amazed, I didn’t expect such a quick and professional answer.
One widget got completely deleted but I could make it back.
