Can you block semalt

  Hi there
  I’ve heard that there’s a company called ‘Semalt’ who’s making a nonsense of bloggers statistics by bombarding them with ‘false’ views.

  Today my blog was viewed by ‘Semalt’ too. It’s the first time I’ve spotted them on my stats page and I would like to know how to block them before it becomes a problem – like it seems to have become for other bloggers.

  This is the address of the Referrer:
  semalt.com/competitors_review.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fjulieinbali.wordpress.com

  I look forward to hearing from you and ideally learning that you will block this at source.

  Hi,

  I’m having the same issue. For some reason their crawler is fooling both WP and Google Analytics: http://seXXXt.com/crawler.php

  Is there any update on this issue?

  I found this piece of code to add into your .htaccess to block semalt on Block Semalt I am going to try it. I am not sure if it works but I can’t see why not.

  # block visitors referred from semalt.com
  RewriteEngine on
  RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} semalt.com [NC]
  RewriteRule .* - [F]
