Can you change the placement of a reblogged post on your blog?
-
I reblogged a friend’s post but am not satisfied where it appears on my blog. It’s in an awkward place on my homepage and sticks out like a sore thumb. Can I change the placement of the reblogged post? If not, is there a way to remove it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Rebekah – This happened for kind of a complicated reason. :)
When you reblog, it’s posted like any other post, so it goes to the top of your post stream until you post again.
You can also delete it from your post list, just as you would any other post:
https://rebekahafaulk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.phpThe reason yours is showing where it is, though, is that your theme, Forever, has an option to show four of your latest posts in excerpts below the slider, as shown here:
http://foreverdemo.wordpress.com/But it only uses posts with the “Standard” post format for that. Your reblog is your only post with the Standard post format, because most of your posts have either the Image or Gallery post format. You can see the little photograph icons next to your post titles in the list here here:
https://rebekahafaulk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.phpSo you have two options. If you don’t want posts showing up where that reblog is, just uncheck the ‘show four posts’ option here:
https://rebekahafaulk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=theme_options&settings-updated=trueOr, if you want a row of four posts with featured images, like in the demo, just edit some of your posts, and choose Standard for their format (you don’t need to use an Image or Gallery format in order to have images and galleries in your posts):
https://rebekahafaulk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4120&action=editSorry for the long explanation. :) Let me know how that works!

Eurello,
That was immensely helpful. Thank you VERY much! I actually learned something, ha! I knew it had something to do with my theme, but I couldn’t figure it out.
Now of all things, I changed a few of my recent posts’ settings to Standard, and the post I reblogged lost it’s picture. How do I get it back? I’d like to keep it up, afterall, that is why I reblogged it in the first place.
Thanks so much for your insight!

Hi Rebekah – That post didn’t have a featured image, because it’s a reblog, but you can edit it and set a featured image for it as described here:
Featured ImagesWhatever image you choose should show in the thumbnail.
