-
I changed my wordpress address from ricc2710.wordpress.com to https://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/ but now I can’t find this address on the internet and when I eventually do get into my blog I can’t get into the home page.
please help me change everything to be richarddixon2710.wordpress.com.
I’m not very technical … sorry.ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Admin login link is https://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ Is that the login link you are using?
-
Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes. This log address works – for me.
But if someone is looking for my blog on the internet “richarddixon2710.wordpress.com” doesn’t come up on a search ?
Also ‘clicking’ on Home tells me that the page no longer exists … ? -
New URLs don’t show up in search engines for some time. The more you blog, the faster it happens.
-
Great. Thanks for that. That answers half my question.
This is like walking through a mine field ….
Much appreciated. -
Have you gone through http://learn.wordpress.com yet? Looks like you’re starting a page-based structure which is harder to handle than a normal blog’s post-based structure.
-
No not yet. Thanks for the advice … I will do now.
I didn’t know there was any difference …
But it’s taken days to get this far … so the thought of changing to post-based is daunting. -
It’s easier, but you will also want to see this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/

Thanks. Very helpful.
I’ll wade trough it a few times and get the hang of it. Looks very useful.
Thanks again ! -

Hi.
I still can’t access my blog site off the internet with my address https://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/
So I can’t give my address out.
How do I get round this problem ?
Thanks -
The Admin login link is https://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com//wp-admin/
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and the exact same associated email address that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Tools > Delete Site.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Your last resort for gaining access is to complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

Thanks again for the quick reply.
But what address can I give to people to look at my blog ?
I don’t want to hand out my admin address. -
It must sound like a dumb question … but that’s exactly what I assumed … and I’ve been trying …
The response from an internet search always is :
Your search –
https://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/ –
did not match any documents.
I type it in as anyone else looking for me would do … -
Search has zero to do with accessing a blog. Your friends type http://richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/ into their top browser bar and click. That’s all they do and they are able to access your site.
It can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. What attracts search engines is unique content in posts (not pages) that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Start now publishing original content posts frequently two or even three times weekly. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/
Note that your site has been indexed by Google site:richarddixon2710.wordpress.com/
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
