Can you convert your wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org?
-
So, I just found out you can’t add plugins or advertising (such as Google Adsense) onto a WordPress.COM blog, you have to have a WordPress.ORG blog. Is there any way to transfer my account from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I don’t want to have to start all over with building my blog and viewers. Plus I paid for a domain name on wordpress.com and would obviously want to keep my site name. Can anyone help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

(1) Hire a web host http://wordpress/org/hosting/
(2) Download a self hosting version of wordpress.ORG software and upload it into your new site
(3) Upload a wordpress.org theme and plugins
(4) Export the contents out of your wordpress.com blog out of it and import it inot your new worpress.org install. -

Then read this support entry:
Are you leaving WordPress.com? Would you like to redirect yourblogname.wordpress.com (as well as all of your permalinks) to your new domain name? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/redirecting-your-blog/

Apparently you can now have an option to use Google Adsense on WP.com. I still don’t think it’s worth bothering with, but it’s possible.
