Can you delete or block a follower from your blogsite?

    Can you delete or block a follower from your blogsite and how do you do this? Also I don’t seem to get an email verification when someone starts to follow my blogsite. Is there a way of getting an email sent to you which confirms first whether you want to accept the follower like on LinkedIn.

    We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. However, please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/

    Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
    E-mail me whenever
    _Anyone posts a comment
    _A comment is held for moderation
    _Someone likes one of my posts
    _Someone reblogs one of my posts
    _Someone follows my blog

    Hi Thanks very much for your quick response. I have not looked at the two links yet but will do. It is a shame that you can’t delete followers as I think you should be able to if you want to like on YouTube.

    If I remove/delete the icon from my blogsite will it get rid of all the followers. Is this a way of doing it and just not have any followers.

    I have gone to my Dashboard Settings Discussion and all of the above are checked and always have been. For some reason I used to get an email verification but I have not now for the past year I think. I only notice when I go onto my blog and suddenly see someone has joined. Is there a fault someone. Thanks

    Hi I just posted a similar question and got sent a link to this discussion. I asked if there is a way of deleting or blocking certain followers from your blogsite which I personally think you should be able to do. You can do similar things in YouTube and LinkedIn. I think this is definately something which Word Press should consider developing. I think that emails should be sent initially to the owner of the blogsite to verify whether you want to accept the person to follow you ot not. At the moment I am sent no email even to say that someone is following me. I hope this is something that Word Press improves.
