Can you display a link by a word only in your post instead of the URL?
-
Hi, I’m new to blogging (yesterday) and I did get the link to work using the chain icon but I would like to make it neat using html. Is this possible without upgrading. As well can any one tell me how you add new headings like Archives (not categories). And finally if I want the number of posts in each category to show, is this possible?

(1) 1) a link – make it neat using html
Using the text rich editor you simply select the word with your mouse that you want to embed the link in a use the button. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ Refer to icons #10 and #11 and this thread http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/how-do-i-make-a-link-to-another-site/(2) You cannot change the names like “Archives” on some widgets. The only widget names you can assign titles to yourself are text widgets. Your blog has both a Categories widget and an Archives widget. If uou don’t want to use the Archives widget you can remove it (see the threads below). This will help you understand blogrolls, links and categories and their relationships. And this will help with the set up and configuring of widgets.

This is a thread with widget illustrations http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/what-is-a-widget/

Here’s where to find the “Links” widget => Dashboard => Presentation => Sidebar Widgets => Available Widgets
