Can you explain gallery images?

  Hello, and thank you for your help.

  I am trying to get gallery images to appear on my blog. At the moment, you have to click on a hyper link to see the gallery.

  I am also trying to unattach images from posts in the Media Library. Is this possible?

  Have you followed this guide to create your gallery?

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

  If you’re referring to your “This is an Image Gallery” post, you’re seeing the link because you selected the “Gallery” post format. If you select the “Standard” post format, the gallery will display inline on the front page.

  As for attachments, they can only be un-attached if you delete the post or page that they’re attached to.

  Thank you for such a prompt reply.

  I am new to this – of course.

  I have read the guide, but I might be doing something wrong. I am able to create my galleries, but they end up on another page.

  I was also wondering if one can unattached an already attached image.

  Okay, I used the Standard format and that worked just fine. Let me try unattaching an image from a post that has been deleted.

  Okay, sorry I am unable to unattach an image which was previously attached to a post. I deleted the post, but I don’t know how to make it unattached. Any suggestions?

  Hm, deleting the post should unattached the image, but I forgot to mention that deleting a post just most it to the Trash section (linked to at the Posts section of your Dashboard). You’ll need to empty the Trash to finalize the deletion.
