Can you fix a bug that stops dropdown menus from working on iPhones?
-
I have one drop-down on my site’s menu but you can’t access the drop-down part on an iPhone. I’m told this is due to a bug in the template and probably affects all cell phones. Can you fix?

Thanks, I appreciate your checking. The main menu works okay, it’s
the drop-down part of the menu that doesn’t work. The item labeled “Encomiums” has a sub-menu below it, but you can’t access it on Android or iPhone. I’ve tried on a phone and tablet. -
Hi there,
I see what you mean! So in order for the menu to come out, please enable the mobile theme by going to Appearance > Mobile in your Dashboard and you should be set!
Cheers!

Grace, thanks again. I tried that and it worked for smart phones–except now the art in my header has disappeared when you view it from a phone. Not sure I like that trade-off. And I tried it on an Android tablet and it worked–but not every time. You have to go through about 5 tries to get the lower-level menu page to appear.

Hi there,
I wasn’t able to see that issue on my Android as seen here:
I was able to see the submenu every time. Can you tell me what browser you are using on your Android? Are you using the app? And also is the browser updated to the most recent version?
As for the header disappearing – that would be because of the mobile theme. If you don’t want that I would look into a different theme:
-
I’m using a Samsung Tab model GT P5113 with Android 4.1.1 and my browser is the latest edition of Firefox. I’ve also tried to access this with the resident browser on the tablet with the same results. I can get the lower-level menu item, reviews and activities, to show up, but most of the time I can’t get the page it represents to load.
As to the header, my theme is already responsive and the header showed up fine on any mobile device. The header art disappeared when I enabled the mobile theme at appearance>mobile. This makes it seem that I can either have header art, but not use 2nd level pull-down menu items, or sacrifice the header art and get the pull-downs.
What do you think?

I am not able to reproduce this issue. I am able to see the submenu and open that page every time. Can you try this with the Chrome browser?

You can get the header in the mobile theme if you choose a specific header. Currently you have it set to Randomize. If you choose one, it will show up on your mobile view.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
