Can you have a shopping cart on wordpress.com ?

  I’ve been impressed with how easy wordpress.com makes hosting. I have a friend who is thinking of starting a small business, but he knows very little web stuff. I was thinking about advising him to simply buy one of the packages here.

  Does wordpress.com have a “shopping cart” feature? If so how much would that feature, with the ability to upload custom CSS themes cost?

  I’m afraid e-commerce isn’t possible here at WordPress.com.

  If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
