The best thing for your etsy shop would be to put an image link or something in a text widget. I’ve seen several people who have done that. You could actually use an image of one of your creations, or possibly two if you wished.

i added a text widget and am putting in the link to my shop, but it shows up as the actual link http://…etc. and you can not click on it. you can see what i mean if you click on this link, it’s the second thing down on the left, titled “my shop”. i still can’t figure out how to put a photo of my creations either.

You are welcome. Do the image link in the post editor as well. Open a new post, upload an image you want to use and before you insert it into the post, put the URL of your etsy shop into the “link URL” field and then click insert. Switch to the HTML tab, copy out the code and insert it into your text widget.

i still can’t seem to figure out how to put a image or photo into a text widget. earlier today i got my shop link in my sidebar, but i could not move it up to the top where i wanted it. so i removed it from my dashboard. i just realized that it is still on my blog but does not show up on my dashboard. so how am i supposed to remove it? also, i can’t remember which widget i used to create it. if that is confusing you can check out my blog again up above.
thanks for all your help.

Did you go to appearance > widgets and drag it down to the “inactive widgets” section? That will preserve the code you put into it. If you want to remove it completely and don’t care about the code, click on the title bar of the widget toward the right end, then click the “remove” button.
Do as I suggested and use the post editor for the image. Do realize though that the maximum width for the image in the sidebar should be about 150px, so use the “thumbnail” image size.

i don’t know how, but somehow i figured it out. i got my photo in there. you rock!
i looked to see if it was under the inactive widgets and it was not there. i don’t get it…. crazy
