Can you have “reaction buttons” on WordPress themes
-
First of all, sorry if this has been asked a bajillion times before – I did search but didn’t find anything that answered this question.
I’ve noticed “reaction buttons” at the bottom of the post on a few blogs. But they all seem to be blogger blogs. I’m using the Garland Theme. Can I get a widget for this or do I have to change themes? Or is it a Blogger only thing? Thanks to you all in advance. It’s possible I’m just suffering blog-envy and I’ll get over it!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you mean “reaction buttons” as a way to rate your posts, then look at your dashboard and you’ll see icons to edit posts, pages, media, links, etc. There are two plain circle icons. One will let you add polls. The other will let you add a star rating system.

Thanks for your reply. I noticed the ratings options but what I’m looking for is buttons that readers tick having read your post. They’re edit-able in that you could have them say things like “educational” or “interesting” or “funny” (or even “wtf?” which one blog I saw had, as a joke)
I don’t want a star-rating. And my posts wouldn’t suit the nero-style of agree/disagree.It seems it’s just a “Blogger” <em”le sigh!”/em>

We can have polls which you can customize:

I’m going to give the Poll Daddy a try but I suspect it’s not exactly what I’m after.
It’s probably best if I give a visual: link shows a blog where I noticed this recently

Refer last paragraph of the post. This seems to be the first time she uses it and then it populates all of her previous posts automatically. -
Hey, that’s kinda neat. Sort of like what they have on ravelry (fiber site for knitters/crocheters/spinners/weavers).
And, no, sadly we have nothing exactly comparable here on WordPress.com, though the rating system is somewhat like it. You can either use the stars or the thumb up/down. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ratings/
You can make a suggestion straight to Staff on the Support Docs/contact/ form.

Yes, exactly what they have on Ravelry! You know it too!?!
I’m thinking the trend all started there and Blogger has picked up on it. The blogs I’ve seen it on – I would know the authors through Ravelry.I guess it comes down to the fact that I’m suffering from “Blog-envy”. But, thanks for letting me know I can take suggestions to the Staff here, and for the link. I appreciate that and might pluck up the courage to do it.

No need to “pluck up the courage” though I know what you mean. The staff responses are always nice, professional and even friendly. It is a nice little feature! You could also post in the “Ideas Forum.”
I like that: “Blog-envy”…
