Can you help me embed YouTube videos after many failures?
-
I am having trouble getting Videos from YouTube to display. They only display as links. In the Forum you say that when people have this problem, you can help. Please help!

Just to be sure, are you following this guide? http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/
If so, would you please give me a link to the post or page where this isn’t working for you?

Thank you!
The guide you sent (which I could not find earlier when searching for help on this topic – where is it hiding?) helped. I was ending up with hyperlinks, copying from the “embedding with short code box” on YouTube rather than copying straight from URL. However, I am still having only partial success. Is there a limit on how many videos I can include in a post? I am trying to put in three. I can get all the code in correctly but then when I try to save and preview the draft post, two of the videos drop their code and only one (it could be any one of the three) will retain the code.
This post is a draft entitled “To Draw a Dream” if you can access it.
Many thanks for your help!

No, you can embed as many as you want to.
Would you please give me a link to the post or page with the problem?

Hi there,
I only see one video on that page, and don’t see any other shortcodes.
Could you try adding the video URLs to your post?
For example, you could enter the following on its own line in the post editor:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkVBXW4JeUIMake sure it’s not linked — you should enter only the URL in plain text.

That is what I did, many times. The code would show in the body of the post just the way it should, but then it just disappeared when I hit save or Preview.
Each time I tried this, two of the three videos dropped the code. It was never the same two videos.
Now when you look at the draft, you only see the title of the video instead of the code for the two that are missing.
The titles of the videos not showing are:
1. “Gabby Douglas’ Mother on Raising an Olympian”
URL is http://www.youtube.com/user/ProcterGamble/featured?v=HbhzLI-vNjE2. “Best Celebrations in the Soccer World”
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFrMSzoLXIUThanks for your help. I hope we can get this fixed.

1. That’s a URL from the user page, not neccessiarily the video’s URL. Try this instead:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbhzLI-vNjE2. The video doesn’t appear to have been entered into the post, try this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFrMSzoLXIUIn both cases, if the URL is automatically converted to a link when pasted (blue and underlined), highlight it, and click the toolbar button that looks like a broken chain next to the link button.

Well, that did it! Except I’m not sure why the second one worked, because the URL was the same one I had been using unsuccessfully. Whatever! Thanks for your help, as always.
