Can you help with accessing weblogs from Kazakhstan
-
I am teaching a course in Kazakhstan in which the class uses WordPress weblogs. This semester, for the first time, we are having major problems accessing the accounts. Students are able to access wordpress.com and set up weblogs, but most run into problems, getting network error messages when trying to access dashboards, post entries, or even see entries other students may have succeeded in posting.
Our university network administrators so far cannot figure this out. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it appears that WordPress.com is blocked in your country. I’m afraid we have no control over this. You might try to use a proxy server to access your site.

Unfortunately, Kazakhstan has censored WordPress.com at the national level, and there’s nothing that we can do about it.
You may be able to get around it with an anonymous proxy similar to what can be used to get around China’s censorship: http://www.randomwire.com/how-to-bypass-the-great-firewall-of-china
