can you help with grid page template problems, I'm using 'motif' theme

I cannot get a grid page, even though I am assigning the grid template to pages. It doesn’t work at all and I have tried for days to get this to work
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Jboydston did explain it all much better than I did, so try to create your grid that way.
Down on the support page, “Featured Images” I found more about the image sizes
Note: If your featured image doesn’t appear after following the instructions above, please make sure that it meets the size requirements outlined here.
Motif theme:- Posts and pages: 705 x 435.
- Front page template: 1140 x 610.
- Full width and grid page template: 1072 x 435.
- Testimonials thumbnail: 90 x 90.

S: If you want to display some existing static pages (must include a featured image in any case) on to the new grid you just created, you can do so but you’ll need to use the “next page” tag very soon in the content, in order to shorten and display it as an excerpt on to the grid (front side)
