Can you make it possible for WordPress users to remove comments?
-
I commented on a person’s wordpress.com site.
The person then not only completely reworded and altered my comment, but also published without my consent my email address, IP address, and other identifying information.
I asked him nicely to take it all down and just erase the works, but he altered that comment as well. The result is what appears to be me saying things I never said.
Is there any way I can remedy this situation?
Here’s the site, with the false comments under my name at the bottom of the page:
Thanks in advance for your help with this jerk!

The comments left on a blog can be edited by the blog’s owner. However, if you feel that this person is violating our Terms of Service by editing your comments, I would recommend filing a complaint:

Thanks Evarlese,
That was fast!
It’s not so much the editing of my comments, it’s the posting of my private information such as my email address (which the comment form falsely states will not be published) and my IP address, etc…
May I ask you – do you feel that these things constitute a violation of the terms of service?
Thanks again!

It would be really nice if WordPress allowed us to delete any comments that we’ve previously made across the entire WordPress.com platform…
If you look at YouTube’s commenting system you’ll see that they have that functionality (just a simple ‘Remove’ option under the ‘Reply’ dropdown menu) already.
If WP had this capability – I could have just erased them myself, and I wouldn’t have to be bothering you now! Something to consider?
Thanks again,
