Can you migrate my WP.com followers to my self-hosted blog for me?

    Hi there,

We’ve just moved our hosted blog (http://themessagesonholdblog.wordpress.com/)
to a self hosted WordPress site (http://messagesonhold.wpengine.com)

Not sure if it matters to you but the publicised domain for our blog is: (http://blog.messagesonhold.com.au)

I’ve installed and activated Jetpack, I’m told I need to contact you guys to migrate the 30 or so followers from our wordpress.com site to our self-hosted blog. These are followers who have followed us by clicking on the “follow” button while logged in to WordPress.com.

Can you move these followers over for me? Also could you point me in the direction of some documentation relating to this, I just want to know will I have acces to these followers email addresses?, will they still get email notifications? etc etc

    Thanks In Advance!
    Cathal

    Hi!

Could you login to your WordPress admin and go to Jetpack, then disconnect Jetpack and reconnect?

This will refresh the connection to make sure that its using your domain name instead of the WP Engine subdomain.

A staff member will then help you with moving your subscribers.

  • Yes, as lorenzocaum noted, you are going to need to disconnect and reconnect to your permanent URL before followers can be migrated. Let me know when you have done so.

    Hi There

Thanks for your replies, as requested I’ve disconnected the Jetpack plugin and reconnected again. The domain is now active.
Could you swap over the followers?

    Thanks
