Can you move a self-hosted WordPress blog into an existing WordPress.com blog?

Is it possible to merge a self-hosted WordPress blog with a WordPress.com blog? I need to move the self-hosted blog into an existing blog on WordPress.com.
I am aware of https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/ but it assumes you are starting from scratch.

You can use the import tool under Tools > Import to import an XML file. This will add additional posts and pages to the existing site and will not delete any existing content. You will want to avoid using the Import Everything tool, or importing a site database, as this would delete the existing site in order to import the new content.
If you want to move content to WordPress.com from another WordPress site (either WordPress.com or a WordPress.org site), use the Import Content option.
