Can you move an existing blog to a new account with the same name?

I wonder if anyone can help me please.

Currently, I have 1 account and 2 blogs:
Username: roundpicture, Blogs: roundpicture and roundpicturetravel

In the future, I want to have 2 accounts and 2 blogs:
    Username: roundpicture, Blog: roundpicture
    Username: roundpicturetravel, Blog: roundpicturetravel

Idealy, I wanted to create the 2nd account with username roundpicturetravel and move roundpicturetravel blog to it.

But because roundpicturetravel blog name is already being used, WordPress won’t let me create a new account with that name.

Can you think of a way for my roundpicturetravel blog to be moved to an account with the same name?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not if the name you want is already being used.

You can set up a new username with a new account, using a different email address. You can then export your old blog and import it to this new blog. But you’ll have to choose an available url.

Oh, I see what you mean. You are using the name you want. In that case the best thing is just to transfer ownership of the blog. Set up the new username with the new account and separate email. Then you can invite this new user to be an admin of the blog. You’ll have to ask staff to remove the original owner of the blog, though,.

Thank you for your reply, rosclarke.

Yes, I am the one who is already using the name, for my 2nd blog.
And I want to create a new account with that same name so that I can separate the 2nd blog out from my current account.

Now, when I try to sign up for a new account using the name, I get an error message:
    “Sorry, that username already exists!”
I didn’t realise any additional blog names I register under the current username wasn’t going to be available to be registered as a username later on.
But since I am the owner of the name, I thought there would be a way to get around this problem easily enough – not so.

So far, I have come up with 2 possible solutions.

    1. Create a new account using a username similar to the name you want > Invite the new username to be an admin > Export/import the blog > In Profile of the new account, create a nickname that matches the blog name and set it as your diplay name > Put up with having to log in using a username similar to your desired name forever.

    2. Contact the staff as you suggested. But I wasn’t sure if the staff should be bothered with something seemingly inconsequential like this, even though important enough for me.
