Can you move "followers" to a new blog?
-
I have a current blog at WordPress.com with 114 followers. This week I want to launch a new, self-hosted, blog and want to move along all the followers. The Jetpack plugin is going to be installed and connected to WordPress.com but how do I move the followers?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
If you have not done so already, please install and activate jetpack, and post the URLs of the blogs. Please so this now as I have flagged this for staff attention. They will make the transfer for you. Please subscribe to this thread so you will know when they assist you.
Staff is backlogged and works through threads in chronological order. The best thing to do is be patient, and know that they will take care of you as soon as they are able.http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
Have a good day! =)

Now I have finished editing the new site and would like you to move all followers from the old blog. The two blogs are not listed on my account since I am helping a friend, his user name is “johan1111”.
The old blog has the URL “http://johan1111.wordpress.com” and the new blog is called “JL Skolutveckling” and has URL “http://www.jlsu.se”.
We connected Jetpack on the new site for about 10-15 minutes ago.
Can you please send me a confirmation that you are accepting the “move”-task or does he need to post the request from his account?
How long time will it take before followers are moved?

Hello again,
Is http://www.jlsu.se a WordPress.org site? I can’t see anything other than a password field. I am a volunteer in this forum so I don’t have administrative access to accounts.
If it is not a WordPress.org site, staff will not be able to make the transfer for you.

It is a self-hosted blog as I wrote above. Are you saying that it’s not possible to move followers if you have a self-hosted WordPress-installation?
I believe I have read that it is supposed to be possibly using the Jetpack plugin. You also didn’t mention anything about it earlier when I told about my new self-hosted site.

I incorrectly assumed you were referring to a WordPress.org self hosted blog. Lesson learned, and I apologize for the confusion.
I found a support document for blog users leaving WordPress:
Best wishes

Ok, I will look into that support document tomorrow.
But I found a article about moving followers to a self-hosted blog. There it says nothing about it has to be located at WordPress.org?

Hello again,
This is the thread I should have given you if your new site isn’t a WordPress.org site:http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
I think what threw me on this is that you were able to install and activate Jetpack. I thought that Jetpack was unique to WordPress.
I hope it works out for you.
