can you move the blog "posts" to not be the main page?

  We woudl like our main page when you first open to the site to be one of our “pages” and not our posts. Is this possible?? Perhaps there is another theme that allows this??

  Yes, certainly. Make a static page and then go to Settings->Reading (or it might be Settings->General) and select that as the opening page.
