Can you please locate my post "Muji: There is no there, there is no brand"?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I think my WordPress site was hacked. I had a post up entitled “Muji: There is no there, there is no brand,” and it is no longer there. The post is no longer present. Can you please restore it and/or inform me of why it is no longer showing up.

    Hi Vivek,

I was able to locate that post in your Dashboard -> Posts -> Trash folder. You can restore it from your Trash folder by following these instructions:

    Delete a Page or Post

No evarlese. That is a different post. The title of my post was “Muji: There is no there, there is no brand,” and the title of the trashed post is “There is no there, there, is No Brand Muji.” Subtle and stupid difference, I know. But please please please help me out by finding the newest version of my post somewhere in your system. I posted it to the internet and on Facebook. I even had a few readers. But do know it is not what is in the trash.

    Please help!

    Best,
    Vivek

It looks like “Muji: There is no there, there is no brand” was permanently deleted roughly 7 hours ago. I’m afraid we’re unable to restore posts that have been permanently deleted.

Do you remember deleting this post?

No, and that is why I am a bit disturbed! I am pretty sure I was hacked. Can you please make a policy exception and restore this post for me?

Unfortunately, once a post is permanently deleted, we’re unable to restore it for any reason. However, have you ever provided anyone with access to your site? To be safe, we have suggestions on keeping your WordPress account secure at the following page:

Keep Your Site Safe and Secure

You realize that your advice does not help me solve my problem in any way. WordPress needs to work on its User Experience policies and realize that the writer’s priorities should be first. If there is anything you can do to help a writer feel secure about their work you should. You shouldn’t leave them feeling or even thinking that they were hacked.

You can say that “I know it sucks, but it’s just our policy, and this is my job.” But I wonder how much effort it would take for you to get up from your desk, bring this problem to someone with authority, and try to help a user. I would like to think that we are not just cogs in some cyberspace machine.

All the advice you gave me I could have given myself. Help me, for real.

    Best wishes,
    Vivek

And of course I’ve provided friends the link to my page. Isn’t that the point of blogging? To get your message out to the world? This is how the Satoralist and other great blogs have started. But I’m not an idiot and would never give my closest friends access to my account information.

Please find it in your heart to help me out here.

    Vivek

  • Once a post has been permanently deleted by an administrator on the blog, it cannot be restored.

Since you mentioned that you did not delete it yourself, but it is logged as being deleted by your account, I highly recommend changing your password ASAP.
