Can you please removed the email requirement to comment on my blog?
-
I have disabled “require an email and name to comment” on my blog around 1.30 pm EST this afternoon so that anyone can leave a comment, but the text boxes asking for email and names is still there as of 5.24 pm EST. I have already lost a few comments due to your new policy requiring authentication for wordpress or gravatar account holders, but I never required anyone to authenticate themselves, I only wanted less spam so I’d rather turn that feature off than lose readers. How long will it take for that feature to remove itself form my pages?

Howdy,
The input boxes will still remain, even if you don’t require users to use them.
Your commenters should now be able to post a comment whether or not they use an email address.
If they do use an email address that’s associated with a WordPress.com account, they’ll first need to sign in. This helps to prevent impersonation.
Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)

chrisrudzki :: Thank you for your timely response. Is there a place, specific URL, where I can keep abreast of what changes are being implemented?

You can get up-to-date info on this specific feature via https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/recent-update-to-commenting

macmanx :: Thanks so much! I already saw that particular thread regarding the commenting, but I was wondering where the general “here are the new things we’re adding as features” place might be?

Not yet, but once features reach maturity (the point when we’re done tweaking them based on feedback), we typically announce them at http://en.blog.wordpress.com/
