Can you point my sub domain?
-
Hi….I need to forward my sub domain http://productions.metamorafilms.org to my new site http://www.metamoraproductions.com which is hosted some where else. Can this be done? I just want to forward the sub domain NOT the entire site (metamorafilms.org)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Absolutely! We actually have steps for this here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
Once you edit your domain settings, you’ll find that you currently have a CNAME record for productions.metamorafilms.org pointing to productionssite.wordpress.com. Edit that CNAME record to point to http://metamoraproductions.com/ instead and you’ll be all set.
If you’d like me to make that change for you, I can. Just let me know. :)

Hi Matt,
Sorry, I was going about this the wrong way. We’ll actually need to map this subdomain to your outside site using an A record. (We would use a CNAME record if you wanted your site at metamoraproductions.com to appear as productions.metamorafilms.org. It doesn’t work like I initially thought.)
But with A records, we’d point to sites using IP addresses, not domain names. The thing is, your site is run on a shared system at Dreamhost so the only way to map it using an IP address is if you purchase Dreamhost’s Unique IP upgrade:
http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Unique_IP#Creating_a_Unique_IP_address_for_a_domain
Let me know if you do have a Unique IP at Dreamhost, then we can setup that A record and get it pointed.
Sorry again for the confusion.
