Can you protect a page and give it multiple passwords?

I coach a swimming club and we have a page on our website that is only for use by the swimmers or parents. At present we have one password that they all use but they always forget it and new swimmers always ask for it. Is there anyway to make different passwords that can use the parents first name and DOB or something?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You might be better off by making your blog private and then having the parents/swimmers register for a WordPress.com account. You can then add them as viewers (if they don’t have a WordPress.com account, you can invite them using an email address and they will be prompted to create an account). If you want to keep part of your blog public, you can make individual posts private and I’m guessing (but don’t know for sure) that if you make the users viewers they should still be able to see your post/page (it might be that only Editors or Administrators can see that post; I’d suggest adding a user as a viewer and trying it with a test post, or maybe someone who knows more will chime in). Another advantage of doing it this way is people can reset their own passwords and if at some point you need to remove someone’s access you can just make them no longer be a viewer instead of creating a new password and sending it to everybody.

Don’t make your current blog Private just for the one page thing – make a new blog (a second blog is free) and set the NEW blog to private using the above instructions

The reason to leave your current site public is to generate interest in your group – setting the main site to private will kill your traffic and take away your community relations –
