can you re-use stagnant wordpress addresses?

  Hi, I’m trying to find the right name for my new wordpress.com site, the names I’ve been wanting to use are already taken – by ‘one-post-wonders’ from 2006 and 2008. Is there any way to release those long-unused wordpress urls? thanks!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The short answer is: No, there isn’t.

  The longer answer is that if you can contact the owners of those sites, you can ask them to transfer them to your WordPress.com account if they are no longer interested in using them. It’s a long shot. But if it is important to you, it might be worth trying.

  thanks rootjosh for your reply, i wondered if that was the only solution. I’ll give it a go, but aren;t too hopeful :-)
