Can you renew my URL smitecraft.me?

I got directed here to renew my URL, smitecraft.me, for my website smitecraftmc.wordpress.com. Please help!!

What’s happened is the domain mapping has expired on smitecraft.me. From your Dashboard go to Store > My Upgrades to renew the mapping. -
It looks like your domain name has expired and is outside the grace period – you might need help from the staff to renew it – I have flagged this for the staff to help

You must have signed up for a second WordPress.com account at some point. The account you are posting from is not the one associated with the domain smitecraft.me.
If you are the owner of the other account associated with the domain, log in using that account and visit the My Upgrades page at: https://WordPress.com/my-upgrades to renew.
Note, as Auxclass mentioned, you are outside the 14 day grace period. This means the domain will require an $80 fee to be renewed. This fee is charged by our registrar and is not one we can waive.

A question, if I may. How did the two of you determine that the domain is outside the grace period? When I viewed the smitecraft.me whois I saw it listed with an expiration date of 16-Jun-2016 19:35:44 UTC. -

I cheated a bit and looked at the user’s account in our internal system which shows a bit more information than a typical whois lookup.
If I wasn’t going to cheat, I would look at the status in this case: AUTORENEWPERIOD
An autoRenewPeriod status code is assigned to a domain name by the Registry when the domain is automatically renewed by the Registry on it.s expiration date. This occurs when the registry has not received an explicit renewal or delete command by the Registrar prior to expiration. A domain with an autoRenewPeriod status code can be deleted by the Registrar within 45 days for a credit of the renewal fee. Domains with the EPP status code “autoRenewPeriod” can be updated or deleted.

In other words, you were seeing an expiration date of June 16th 2016 as this is the “Registrar expiration date” which means that registrar, in this case Wild West Domains extended the expiration date for a year. Once the domain is outside of the 14 day grace period the registrar can take back ownership and renew it allowing them to sell it at auction, etc.

I sort of guessed at the AUTORENEW thing – the date being set a year forward is for sure confusing
