Can you resolve this problem?

I don’t have a question, but want to report a problem. I have had no problem posting featured images in past, not have I had a problem loading images, and for the last three days I have had uploads not take (part of each day I had to sit and load the same images over and over again). i tired doing them one at a time and several at a time and nothing helped, then suddenly it “took.” I would not report it if it was one day — a glitch — but three days? Also, I never was able to get my featured image to “take” on my most recent post. I doubt it is me, tho possibly, as I have done this several times on both this and other blogs I write. So I am reporting it, hoping it can be resolved. I also looked at other available topics before sending this.

  • Hi there, to help troubleshoot, could you please try:

    – uploading in another browser, like Firefox or Chrome. Do uploads work better there?
    – clearing Safari’s cache and cookies

How large are the images you’re trying to upload? Are they JPEG files similar to the ones I already see in your media library?

Yes the images are formatted the same way. it won’t take in any browser.

I’m taking over for @kathrynwp as she is out today.

I tried uploading a duplicate of your photo titled “w13-eastlake-sofabed-89” to your Media Library and it seemed to work just fine for me. Feel free to delete that image if you want as I only used it to test the uploading function on your site.

Our dashboard, media uploader, and post editor all use JavaScript to function. Have you recently installed or updated any anti-virus/anti-malware software, added any ad blocking software, or any other browser extensions? These programs/extensions will sometimes block “scripting languages” which would greatly impact some of the features on WordPress.com.

Can you try these things and see if that helps?

    1. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    2. Try with all browser extensions, add-ons, and anti-virus/anti-malware programs temporarily disabled.

    3. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you and if you’re still having trouble. I’ll be happy to look into this further for you.

Let me know if you have any questions!
