Can you restrict the type of ad that is displayed on your blog?
-
Our blog is a cancellation site for student transportation. Certain ads are not appropriate for school based sites, such as beer ads. We are using the free application, and suspect we would have to upgrade to either “No-Ads” or “Premium” but wondered if you can restrict the type of ad displayed on free sites.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No is the answer to your question. You can eliminate all advertising buy purchasing an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade as I do for my blogs.

Edublogs lets you easily create & manage student & teacher blogs, quickly customize designs and include videos, photos & podcasts – it’s safe, easy and secure. The site runs on the same WordPress software we do here ie. wpMU (wordpress multiuser). However, the site is specifically set up for teachers and students. All edublogs are are advertising free, whereas our blogs here at WordPress.com are not ad-free, unless we buy an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

They both run on the same multi-site WordPress software so the answer is yes. See http://help.edublogs.org/2011/08/21/importing-your-content/

Thank you, your answers are very helpful. If I import to Edublogs will the web address change? And would my followers have to re-subscribe to the new blog?
-
Yes of course the web address will change and look like this http://nameoblog.edublogs.org
But this all I can provide here at WordPress.com http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
The rest of your questions have to be addressed to edublogs support staff.
